About God - There is one living and true God. He exists eternally in three persons....God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, who are equal in power and glory. God is Spirit and is sovereign, omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient. Although God is infinite and eternal, He desires to know every man and woman intimately and have relationship with us. God desires that every man and woman would be saved, adopted into the family of God through faith in Jesus and the work of the cross. He is all together perfect and good, completely loving and infallible. He cannot sin, nor can He do evil. He exists "outside" of time and knows all things eternally. There is no end to God, nor was there a beginning.
About the Bible - The entire Bible is God's word to mankind, His specific revelation. It is the greatest love story ever told and the greatest rescue mission in the history of the universe. It is perfect and infallible in the original language. The word of God is the foundation upon which we operate and is the basis for which Reality is governed. We also believe that the word of God supercedes any earthly law that is contrary to the scriptures. Everything in existence will someday pass away, but God's word will always remain. It is eternal, living and absoutely life changing.
About the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is a person, who is an equal third of the triune Godhead. He is present on the earth right now, convicting the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgement. The Holy Spirit indwells the believer at salvation and also empowers the believer for service. He also gives spiritual gifts to whom He will, when He wills. We believe that the initial, physical evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is one's agape love for others. We believe that the spiritual gifts are all active in the body of Christ today, but must be used in accordance to God's word, in balance and order. Apart from the Holy Spirit we can do nothing of any lasting value.
About Mankind - Mankind is inherently sinful and all have fallen short of God's standard of perfection. We are unable to save ourselves, regardless of hardwork, charitable deeds or morality. All have sinned, but we are made new creations in Christ Jesus. We are born spiritually dead and separated from God, however, we can be born again and made spiritually alive in Christ Jesus.
About Jesus - Jesus is eternally God, equally God and essentially God. Like God the Father and God the Spirit, Jesus is an equal third of the triune Godhead. He exists eternally, having no beginning and no end. All things were created through Him, for Him and by Him all things are held together. In great humility Jesus inhabited a human body about 2,000 years ago, being born to a virgin in a feeding trough. He lived a sinless life and began His public ministry at about 30 years of age. During His time of ministry He completed the first of two tasks given to Him by God the Father....to equip 11 men to carry on the ministry. He completed His second and final task by dying a sinners death and atoning for the sin of mankind. After willingly giving up His life He rose from the dead, overcoming sin and death. After spending 40 days on earth and appearing to many, He then ascended into Heaven where He now prepares a place for believers to live forever with Him. He will return again, first to get His church and then, seven years later to judge the world. Jesus is the only way to heaven. No one will make it to God the Father except through Him.
About the Church - There is only one church, led by Jesus. It is His church. The church is not defined by denomination or affiliation, but by the work accomplished upon the cross at Calvary. The church exists to know, love and glorify God and to make Him known to the world. In the church Jesus appoints apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor / teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. The church, or body of Christ, is commanded to meet together weekly or more for Bible study, fellowship, communion and prayers. The church is also commanded to make disciples throughout the world, baptizing them and teaching them to observe the entire counsel of God. The church has failed God more than not, but He still loves His church. Someday soon, Jesus will return to meet His church in the clouds and take us into heaven in what we call the rapture. We are the bride of Christ, children of God, adopted into His family.
About Creation - God created everything in existence in six, literal days about 6,000 years ago. He created the entire universe and everything that dwells within it from nothing by the power of His spoken word, as recorded in Genesis 1. Through creation God has revealed His invisible attributes to mankind, so that no man will have an excuse for unbelief. Creation is simply evidence for God the creator. As a result of the fall in the garden, creation is cursed and groans constantly, awaiting the Lord to reverse the curse. One day the Lord will do away with the universe only to create a new heaven and a new earth.
About Religion - There are two distinctly different types of religion....man made and God made. Religion that has been made by man is his attempt to get to God and gain favor from Him by work, ritual, tradition, effort, morality, sacrifice and charity. This type of religion is powerless and has no value for saving an individual from eternal damnation. There is only one God made religion and it began 6,000 years ago in the garden with Adam and Eve in the "protoevangelium" or first gospel, which is recorded in Genesis 3. In this account God prophetically declared to Satan that through Eve's offspring He would provide a messiah that would crush the serpent's head, overcoming sin and death. All who place their faith and trust in this messiah (Jesus Christ) and His atoning work upon the cross of Calvary would be saved from their sins, adopted in the family of God and receive the gift of eternal life. In the book of James we read, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." This verse gives us the practical application of God made religion resulting from placing your trust and faith in the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. This can be most simply explained by loving God and loving people.
